Bentley Replacement Stereo Upgrade

May 31st, 2017

Faulty Navigation System ?

Bentley GT 2006 factory stereoAs with many older cars the factory fitted stereo systems can be quickly out of date.  They can also develop faults that are expensive to repair or replace. If you are having issues with the OEM radio system in your Bentley or you are wanting to improve the features of it, then Source Sounds in Sheffield have the answer.  We can change the OEM radio in most Bentleys from 2004 upto 2011 by using a replacement stereo upgrade kit.

We can now upgrade the poorly featured factory stereo with something much better using a bespoke replacement panel. There are many options available that will bring the car into the 21st century with new features that the original radio system could only dream of having.  The dash panel supplied with the kit will allow the removal of the original stereo and the heater controls.  By replacing the heater controls with an LCD panel all functions are retained. This allows full control of all factory systems including the Tyre Pressure Monitoring system.  In addition, suspension settings, amplifier settings, lighting and wiper settings are amongst others. The audio controls on the steering wheel  are retained with the new radio system, including the phone answer button.

Upgrade Capabilities

Kenwood DNX-8106DABS system fitted into a Bentley 2004-2011Systems start from around £2500 supplied and fitted (the one in the picture was £2800).  This would be for a touch screen system that would give FM Radio, Navigation, CD/DVD, USB for memory sticks and iPod connectivity.  Apple Car Play is also built in to the unit, as well as a Bluetooth connection for phone calls and music streaming.  Also, for a slightly higher price, other features including DAB Digital Radio, Android Auto and larger screens are available.

Also, you could fit an additional reverse camera to the system. This would enable the driver to view what is behind the vehicle in the blind spot.

A few niggles at first that were not the fault of Source Sounds. But even though it wasn’t their fault, they spent hours trying to resolve the issues created by my vehicle being electric. I could not recommend the service level of this company any higher, their product knowledge is second to none, have all the gear right there in the shop, and will fit you in as soon as … where else do you find that these days!!

Was there today, 18th May at 8am to have the front components on my ford focus changed to a pair of Audison Prima’s, along with some sound deadening anf wave diffusers fitted.
Got there and the staff couldnt have been more helpful or polite. Told me it would he ready by midday. After 2 and half hrs i went to have a look to see how the work was going and the technicians were almost done with it even talking to me during finishing off the install to advise me on future upgrades im thinking of and how to achieve the result im after.
Overall im very impressed, can’t reccommend them enough and im definitely going back for the rear speakers and headunit, amp subwoofer setup in a few months.
They even vaccumed the car after they had finished and went through the setip of my current stock stereo to maoe sure the new speakers were set right, advising me on how to adjust the headunit to ensure optimal burn in for the new speakers.
