BMW Mini Cabriolet gets a fresh new stereo

The request from this BMW Mini owner was to replace the factory CD player with a touch screen DVD system.  The only issue we faced was the dashboard of the Mini overhangs the radio location quite a bit, so the only option for a screen was the latest Kenwood unit, a KVT-627DVD.  We used this model as it has a motorised mechanism called the ‘Z-mech’ which is basically how it motorises out of it’s housing.  This mechanism allows the screen to fully motorise out before it flips up and then it can slide further out or in depending on the dashboard layout.  If we used any other screen on this car the viewing angle would have been terrible and not fulfilled the customers requirements.

Source Sounds recently completed a stealth boot install in my Octavia, along with new front speakers and some additional little tweaks. The work they have done has been immaculate. You would never know the anything had changed, until the music starts that is. The improvement is immense. I just want to take my car for drives, just to listen to things.

I highly recommend Source Sounds. Excellent work, very helpful and knowledgeable staff and excellent aftercare and support. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my ICE needs.
