Elegant BMW Audio Upgrade in a BMW 4 Series

December 1st, 2015

BMW Audio Upgrade

BMW 4 Series BMW Audio UpgradeAs we all know BMWs are one of the best manufacturers to date and produce some of the best looking vehicles on the market. Also, with their mean looking body styling and excellent engine power they are very favourable over some of the lesser spec vehicles. While the exterior and the interior of the vehicle looks phenomenal, the audio is often not quite up to par. That’s where we step in with our BMW audio upgrade systems.

Keeping the look of the vehicle very standard is one of our top priorities. Many customers come to us with the proviso that the vehicle remains standard looking where nothing stands out from the ordinary and we appreciate that. If the original audio system doesn’t include tweeters we will order replacement tweeter panels from BMW. This allows us to mount the tweeters in the factory location. Once the planning and discussions are out of the way then comes the best bit, the installation.

Installation

BMW Audio Upgrade - Tweeter ReplacementInstalling the Audison Prima mid range and tweeter kit properly to the BMW 4 Series is one of the first stages to getting a better audio experience. These 2 speakers alone give a good increase in sound quality over the poor quality factory ones.  Once the speakers have been fitted the next stage is to add an amplifier which will greatly enhance the sound.

For this vehicle we used an Audison AP8.9Bit 8 channel amplifier, bridged into 4 channels for extra power.  We used this as we were also amplifying the factory under seat woofers. All our installations are done properly and we take pride in this. Consequently this may take some time but will make sure your vehicle is safe, and more importantly sounding amazing! One of the customer requests was to achieve good clarity at high volume. By using the adjustable DSP built into the Audison amplifier the customers needs were fulfilled. Using the right sized cables for the amplifier also enabled full use of the amplifiers potential.

A BMW audio upgrade of this spec would be in the region of £1300.

Testimonials

Was there today, 18th May at 8am to have the front components on my ford focus changed to a pair of Audison Prima’s, along with some sound deadening anf wave diffusers fitted.
Got there and the staff couldnt have been more helpful or polite. Told me it would he ready by midday. After 2 and half hrs i went to have a look to see how the work was going and the technicians were almost done with it even talking to me during finishing off the install to advise me on future upgrades im thinking of and how to achieve the result im after.
Overall im very impressed, can’t reccommend them enough and im definitely going back for the rear speakers and headunit, amp subwoofer setup in a few months.
They even vaccumed the car after they had finished and went through the setip of my current stock stereo to maoe sure the new speakers were set right, advising me on how to adjust the headunit to ensure optimal burn in for the new speakers.

I arrived to find two technicians on their lunch break busily helping a lost parcel delivery guy waylaid with items. This bode well for assessing the character of Source Sounds. A replacement head unit and the re wiring of a sub made me self concious that I was not their biggest customer. I could not have been more wrong. They squeezed my job in that very day and phoned me as soon as all was complete. I never had to repeat anything twice. Lee’s perseverance and tenacity was infectious. Several minor issues that I had tolerated previously are now history. I thoroughly recommend this company.

A rare treat to experience excellent customer service, real expert and knowledgeable advice, enthusiasm and on-going support. Nothing is too much trouble for Paul and the team at Source Sounds. I wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else!
