iPod Integration

Do you own an iPod? Would you want to use it in your Car?

There are a few ways to get an iPod to work in your vehicle.  Below we have put information to help you choose which option is best for you and your car and how they will work and which gives you the best sound.

These are listed below in (Entry/Better/Best) options:

Replacement Radio (Best)
IVE w530BTBy changing the radio in your vehicle (if this is do-able) you will get a much better sound through the original speakers and you will have full control over your iPod (Songs, Genre, Playlists, Albums, Audio books, Podcast etc).  Whenever the ipod is plugged in it will charge as well (iPod dependant).  It is widely known that Alpine radios have the better controls for iPod integration and they all have the ‘Made for iPod’ tag allowing them to work seamlessly with the iPod.  If you no longer use cd’s then there are radios available that are purely designed for media devices such as iPods and USB flash sticks.

If you have any controls on the steering wheel, you may be able to interface these to the new stereo so you can still utilise them.

Factory iPodFactory Radio Interface (Better)
This option gives you a near perfect sound quality.  It links into the cd changer port (if available) and will give combined control from the ipod and the stereo. There are a few different manufacturers of this type of device and some will give you more control than others.  This option is normally our most popular as it just adds into your existing system to give you control over your iPod and while ever the iPod is connected it will be charging from the interface.

We always ask you to call to speak to us when discussing this option as there are so many questions we need ask before we can quote on this type of interface, this is to allow us to make the proper decision on which is the correct part for the job.

iPod FM

Pro Audio FM Transmitter (Entry)

This system is a wired interface and uses a high quality digital transmitter to send the audio from your iPod to your stereo via an FM radio channel.  This option will charge the iPod (depending on the model of the ipod), and will give a good quality of sound (compared to the cheap transmitters that plug into your cigarette socket).  This option is a universal solution and will work with any stereo and any vehicle.

Just want to say a massive thanks to all the lads at source for doing a perfect job of my stereo, sub and amp. I couldn’t be happier with how it looks and sounds. The costomer service was second to none. Next step for me is to upgrade all the door speakers so I’ll definitely be paying you another visit. Thanks again lads. Jamie (mk5 golf gti)

Source Sounds recently completed a stealth boot install in my Octavia, along with new front speakers and some additional little tweaks. The work they have done has been immaculate. You would never know the anything had changed, until the music starts that is. The improvement is immense. I just want to take my car for drives, just to listen to things.

I highly recommend Source Sounds. Excellent work, very helpful and knowledgeable staff and excellent aftercare and support. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my ICE needs.

Just would like to say a big thank you to Lee and all the team there for sorting my music system out in my car today. It was much appreciated that you managed to help me to pick a new cd player and install it and also the help after showing me how it all worked. Great service and help from all in the shop (know you were all rushed off ya feet) and still managed to help me out. Hope to see you all again when i’m ready for a new set of speakers for my ford probe. All the best
