Dash Cameras

A dash camera is a small, discrete camera that records video footage while you are driving on the roads. This can be just a front facing camera, or a front and rear system recording the vehicles behind you as well as in front.

The cameras will power on as soon as the ignition is activated and automatically start to record.  The footage is stored to an SD Card, allowing you to view the recorded footage either by using an app, or to remove the SD card and view the data via a computer.

Why Do You Need A Dash Camera?

A dash camera can serve as an invaluable tool for drivers. In the event of an accident, they can provide real footage of the incident proving who was at fault.  The footage can then help with the insurance company for settling disputes. They can also protect against fraud, such as staged accidents and false insurance claims.

Our go to brand for dash cameras is Thinkware. These provide several options of camera, ranging from HD quality up to ultra high quality 4K.
They can be purchased as a 1 channel front system, or a 2 channel front and rear package.

Please call us to discuss your needs, or call into the shop and one of our staff will go through all the options with you.

Dash Camera Installation FAQs

Yes. Hardwiring provides a cleaner installation with hidden wiring and allows features such as parking mode recording to work properly. It also keeps power cables out of sight and frees up the vehicle’s charging socket.

Front and rear dash cameras provide wider coverage and can capture incidents from multiple angles. This can be especially useful for accidents, parking damage, and insurance claims.

Many modern dash cameras include parking mode, which allows recording when motion or impact is detected while the vehicle is parked. Professional installation helps ensure this feature works safely and reliably.

A professionally installed dash camera with the correct hardwire kit and battery protection settings should not excessively drain the battery. Most systems are designed to shut down automatically if battery voltage drops too low.
