Ford Transit Security Upgrades are a necessity for your Ford Transit. These vehicles are targeted daily by thieves and affect everyone from the general working man to the big corporations. Whatever the size of the company, whatever the year of the van, you need to make sure your protect it!
THE PROBLEMS YOU FACE

Door Peeling
Typically known as “Peel and Steal”. With only a bit of human strength and a knee needed, the door can be peeled away from the chassis at the top of the door.

Barrel attacks
Break-ins often occur as a result of the door skin being punctured/cut to gain access to the internal mechanisms. The Ford Transit’s door lock is easily overcome by picking, forcing or ripping the cylinder out of the door

Factory alarm
Ford do not offer any security on the factory alarm on any Ford Transit model to prevent the daily theft occurrences that happen throughout the UK.
THE PRODUCTS WE SELL
These are just some of the systems we offer off the shelf, a bespoke system can be designed specifically to suit your needs.

HIGH QUALITY LOCKING SYSTEMS
Here at Source we use the brand L4V to securely add extra protection to the locking of your vehicle. The product we predominantly deal with is a replacement drivers door lock.
The replacement door lock is expertly installed on the front drivers door to deter thieves from cylinder attacks, which is a common problem with Ford Transits. This replacement locking system has an extra protection bezel which sits around the surface area of the lock inside, to stop the thief dead in their tracks.

Ford Transit Security Upgrade FAQs
Ford Transit vans are one of the most widely used commercial vehicles in the UK, making them a frequent target for theft and tool-related crime. Vans carrying valuable equipment or tools can be especially vulnerable without additional security protection.
Popular Ford Transit security upgrades include immobilisers, vehicle trackers, upgraded alarms, deadlocks, and anti-theft systems designed to make unauthorised access and vehicle theft more difficult.
A Ghost immobiliser adds an additional layer of protection by preventing the engine from starting without the correct authorisation sequence. This can help reduce the risk of key cloning and keyless theft methods commonly used by criminals.
An immobiliser helps prevent the van from being started without authorisation, while a vehicle tracker helps locate and recover the vehicle if it is stolen. Many van owners choose both systems for added protection.
Yes. Security upgrades are commonly installed on work vans, trade vehicles, and fleet vehicles to help reduce theft risk and improve vehicle protection for businesses and tradespeople.
Installation time depends on the type of security system being fitted. Some upgrades can be completed within a few hours, while more advanced systems may require additional installation time.
